[2010] Recruiting: Uploaders

Hey everyone!

Wee opened up new Uploaders applications not too long ago, though with some members of the uploading team busy for a while, we've decided to re-open applications. And especially with the increased number of show recordings that are happening this month and the comeback not too far away, we really want to keep Diadem on track in providing members with all the latest T-ara videos.

Applications will be reviewed as soon as they are received in this thread, and there will be no fixed target for the number which we wish to recruit nor a deadline. But of course, if you are interested then please don't hesitate to apply.

Responsibilities:
An uploader's primary responsibility is to obtain T-ara videos from Korean sources and upload them for Diadem. You may also be involved in Youtube uploads of any Diadem Subs releases.

Requirements:
Commitment to the staff role
Adequate Internet connection
Knowledge in using torrents
Able to upload to at least one of the following: Multiupload, Mediafire, Megaupload
Able to read/recognise basic T-ara relevant terms in Hangul on Korean sites, e.g. 티아라 = T-ara

Bonus skills that would be useful:
An account at toshare
Experience with DC Gallery
Able to cut, join and transcode videos

Happy 1st Anniversary, Diadem!

It's here! It's finally here!

"Happy first birthday, babies I love you all."

That's the concise version. Here's the lovely, cheesy, detailed, message I'll be leaving to all you fans and staff of Diadem.

I cannot believe it's been a year seriously. Like, I can't stress that enough that I'm still very much surprised that we made it this far. (Cuz' quite frankly I thought Diadem would flop, but I'll talk about that later one once you guys want to hear the story). I mean, it's amazing (especially the staff), that we've made it alive and prospering like this...!

As you all already might know, I'm not good at expressing myself in written, but in general, I just really wanna thank you all from the bottom of my heart (yeah, yeah, I'm cheesy, whatever ). Diadem would seriously be nothing without the staff and the members. I'm seriously, overwhelmed still with how much progress we make each and every day.

We were just on MSN the other day, Angie, Tayson, and I, recollecting the memories from when Diadem first opened. And the very many "WTF" moments on Diadem throughout our first year. It's been a wild ride, for sure, and we intend to make each and every year more special with you guys.

In the words of BIG PAPA l-arf (Tayson):

"I remember there would only be 5 people on Diadem and when Jiae and Jiwon left, Diadem died. But Sarah for some reason we don't really know, decided to keep Diadem up and running by going online to talk to herself on the Shoutbox".

So... You guys would probably want to thank Sarah. (I've given up on running Diadem due to various reasons before) But Sarah kept this thing alive. I remember thinking:

"Who is this chick who's constantly on there talking to herself?" ILY Sarah.

But anyways, enough with the chit-chat. I'll tell you guys the story of Diadem once I have time LOL.

So in sooth, I want to thank all the staff of Diadem (you guys really worked hard over the months, and thank you so much for staying with me despite the odds. You know you guys hated me at one point in time, but look where we are now! LOL. Hope you'll stick around for another year of slaving from Elly Kidding, I love you guys, so effing much.). The members, the donors, the people that talk on the Shoutbox, our followers on Twitter, our subscribers on YouTube, EVERYONE. I love you all, I hope you guys'll remember that

Now the layout! DUN-DUN-DUN-DUN!

This layout, seriously, drove me INSANE. Like, both in workload, and now that I'm looking at it as I type this. It's amazing how much this layout has gone through. Seriously. Started working on this layout with the Graphics Department like, January?

There was a lot of discussion and like, changes and modifications we had to make on this layout to make it perfect for this day. So we hope that you will receive it well

The layout for sure, it something different. No actually, it's hella different. And it'll take a lot of getting used to. But it's extremely hot. So please please please give a round of applause to the people behind this layout:

In terms of this layout's production, I owe a huge bunch of hugs to chengtae and aivilo for bearing with my picky-ness and helping me out giving me more than honest opinions on how the layout design was going. Without these two, the layout won't look as hot as it does now. These two also kept my head up this whole time. (At one point in time in this layout, I gave up since I got sick of looking at the PSD and changing it up a billion and one times).

UTMOST KUDOS TO our Tech Admins, Mark and fivesidedsquare for staying up nights coding this layout in a span of an extremely short time. I seriously, love you both to pieces.

I actually cannot say much anymore to how amazing this baby is... It screams legit and a half. Seriously.

Make sure to give our staff hugs too for setting up the whole anniversary events! Especially to Ms. oink*cathy and our friends at YesAsia that made our contests even more memorable! HAHA.

So for now, please anticipate our Celebrations until June 7th. If we're lucky, we'll throw in ridiculous contests from time to time to give out stuff for the fun of it.

Regarding Spam in the Video Downloads Sections

So I've been getting complains from our Uploaders saying that there's way too much spamming going on in the Video Downloads sections.

It's been actually going on for too long already, that I think I'm just way pissed about it. Some people just do not understand how much time and effort our uploaders exert to get yourselves T-ara videos to watch, and yet, loads of people spam and just leech around grabbing videos without leaving some sort of note of appreciation to the Uploaders.

We aren't stupid, we know that you guys spam your way to 15 and 30 posts to get your hands on those juicy videos. We can't blame you, (in one way), since we understand how much you want these videos. Some people post 15-30 posts, and then just leech their way around the forum not posting anymore since you've already got your permissions down.

So we're giving everyone a serious-ass warning this time that spamming and then leeching the Downloads section is WRONG. It also pretty much pisses all of us off.

It's not only our Uploaders who are frustrated with this. Our Global Mods, Admins, Moderators, and I are VERY VERY frustrated about this spamming issue in Diadem.

Let's get it straight, guys... In other fan forums, you need 25-50 posts in order to view Video Downloads... In Diadem, it's even less than half! What is it about 15-SPAM-FREE posts that some of you cannot understand?! It's not that hard, seriously.

Don't get us wrong though, we've already started implementing some things behind the scenes on this, so now we're letting you know on what's going to happen next if this persists.

Just now we disabled post incrementation in the Video Downloads Section, so to all those people that post less than 10 words in that section, you posts won't count anymore (at least for the time being) beginning today. We're also planning on adding Hide Codes in the Video Download sections, so you guys better fix yourselves up, because I don't EVER WANT any of the Diadem Uploaders complaining to me anymore. EVER.

If this leeching and spamming continues, these'll happen next:
01. We'll raise the post count requirement to 30 and 60 posts in order to view the Downloads Section.
02. We'll disable Non-Donors (meaning ALL MEMBERS) from viewing any of the Download Sections for a week. Regardless of post count, unless you're a donor, you won't be able to see anything for a week.

For those CHRONIC OFFENDERS... This is what will happen to you if you don't stop leeching and spamming the forum:
01. Banned from Video Downloads AND Subbed Videos. Unless you edit ALL YOUR SPAM POSTS, you won't gain your permissions back.

I know I sound pretty mad, it's cuz' I'm pissed. I don't like lashing out on the forum like this. This will be the first and last time that I will post any sort of anger post like this. Most of you know I'm not like this normally, but when Diadem Staff members get frustrated, I get pissed.

They help me out run this forum so all of you can get all the stuff you want for T-ara. But if you're going to disrespect their hardwork, then things will get ugly. I value all of the people in Diadem, but if you don't know how to appreciate all the hardwork that our staff exerts each and every second of the day... We're gonna have problems.

Some of you need to remember that without these staff members, Diadem won't exist. Even if I was around, without these people that help me out, this forum would be complete garbage. So please try to show our staff a little respect. I don't pay them to do this, they do these things out of the goodness of their hearts. Don't take advantage of us, please.

I'm not pointing out to ALL of Diadem Members, I'm only generalizing. If you've been offended, I'm sorry, but it probably then means that you know you've been leeching and spamming at one point in time. I'm sure you guys know who you are.

STOP SPAMMING AND LEECHING.
